Los Angeles Culture Festival (LACF) began Hollywood Carnival in 2011. Now in its 5th year, LA/Hollywood Carnival is the largest multi-cultural festival on the West Coast. The Festival showcases the cultural traditions of different countries from all over the world. By displaying costumes, dance, food, arts & crafts, and music the Festival is quickly becoming a Carnival that many are interested in attending. The four-day festival takes place from Thursday June 23-Sunday June 26th.
International Soca Superstar Machel “Monk” Montano, who resides in LA, is extremely active in the Festival and hosts Epic Mas Band which is the largest costumed band currently in the parade that takes place on Hollywood Boulevard this Saturday, June 25.
Robert Christopher Riley an American film, television, and stage actor of both Trinidadian and Barbadian descent.
was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. His mother is from Trinidad and father is from Barbados. Riley is a spokesperson for the Hollywood Carnival and founder of the Carnival Band Hollywood Massive.
Hopefully these two stars can continue to bring interest and attention to Caribbean culture through their involvement with the LA Carnival Festival.
